Step-Father like Step-Son?

Dwight calls him a "Hotshot" in a drunken anger while going probably 70 or 80 miles per hour and "Lays down the law" to Toby and says "You pull that hotshot stuff around me and I'll snatch you bald-headed, you understand?" (Wolff, 91) Dwight is trying to be a Hotshot himself which in terms he is completely contradicting himself as drunken fools usually do. This shows how bad of a person he really is if he is trying to change Toby from what he is claimed to be, even though Dwight is already a more of a "hotshot" than Toby.
